Our students need space to thrive. They need room to engage in healthy, enriching activities that interest and inspire them. They need space to connect with peers and pursue their passions. Unfortunately, space is currently at a premium in our area’s schools. Our two largest schools — Traverse City Central High School and Traverse City West Senior High School — are beyond capacity to support the growing number of recreational programs and extracurricular activities. As a result, our kids lack the room needed to explore the kind of recreational opportunities that will help them thrive – physically, emotionally, academically and socially.
